LE Advanced Firearms Instructor

**To enroll in this class, students must be a graduate of the OTG Firearms Instructor or Pistol Mounted Optics Instructor course**

The OTG Advanced Firearms instructor course is a 30 hour, POST Certified instructor development course.  This course will teach instructors how to further enhance and develop their current firearms training program by utilizing a process-based focus and utilizing a principles based approach with the end goal of building more self-aware shooters and to cultivate performance on demand.

This is a shooting-intensive course.  Students are required to have confidence in their shooting ability.

Key topics include:

• Skills update
• Process-based training vs Outcome-based training
• Teaching principles vs technique
• Incorporating Performance/Overspeed training

Prerequisites:

Students must be sworn Law Enforcement Officers must have successfully completed the OTG Firearms Instructor and/or Pistol Mounted Optics Instructor course.   If you are seeking an exemption, please email pertinent documentation to Bi*****@OT**********.com

Equipment List:

• Duty pistol
• Patrol type duty belt with all issued/authorized equipment
• Minimum of 3 pistol magazines (6 is better)
• Ballistic vest
• Ballistic eye protection
• Hearing protection
• Knee pads (optional)
• 1000 rounds of pistol ammunition
• Weapons cleaning equipment
• Fresh notebook
• Pen, pencils, and 2 sharpie markers
