Vehicle Tactics

This is a 20-hour 2-day course.  Students will learn the skills necessary to deal with threats encountered while they are within the confines and in close proximity to their vehicle as well as how to effectively deal with threats that are inside a vehicle.

 

This fast-paced, challenging course will increase your suitability when operating in and around vehicles.  This class covers all of the material in our three day Law Enforcement Vehicle Tactics Course with the exception of conducting traffic stops.  

 

This class will encompass both live fire and force on force training.  FoF equipment will be provided by OTG, and consist of UTM weapons, safety gear, and ammunition. 

 

Class is strictly limited to a maximum of 15 students.

  • Positional shooting for adverse conditions
  • Proper use of force to resolve an attack
  • An introduction to team tactics

Prerequisites:

Law abiding US citizen or ITAR Approved person.  A minimum of handgun one, or equivalent training from an approved training organization.  Maybe substituted with USPSA D class or IDPA MM class card.  You must have the ability to safely manage a weapon in dynamic situations.  If you have questions please contact us prior to registering.

 

Student Packing List:

  • Carbine, AR type preferred.  Loaner guns available upon request.
  • Carbine sling, two-point slings are highly recommended
  • Three carbine magazines
  • Carry pistol (minimum of .38 spl. or 9mm)
  • 300 rounds of handgun ammunition
  • 400 rounds of long gun ammunition
  • 20 rounds carry ammunition per weapon for ballistics lab (optional)
  • Belt holster and magazine pouches (no serpa holsters allowed)
  • Minimum  3 pistol magazines or speed loaders.
  • Groin protection/Chest protection (Female)
  • Gloves (optional, but strongly recommended)
  • Pen and notebook
  • Hat or other head covering
  • Knee and elbow pads (Optional)
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Sunscreen or raingear (as applicable)
  • Adequate personal water supply
  • Lunch and Snacks. We do not leave the range and take extended lunch breaks.
