Basic SWAT

OTG Basic SWAT course is a 50+ Hour, 5 day Tennessee POST certified Tactical Officer course. Students will learn the individual skills, techniques and procedures necessary to function as an effective member of a Law Enforcement Tactical Team. This is not a vetting course. Officers are expected to arrive with the ability to perform mentally and physically at a high level and represent their department and communities well. Officers will be challenged through necessarily high standards and realistic training events. They will arrive back at their department as a highly functional team member who knows HOW to think not what to think.

 

This fast-paced, challenging course will increase the tactical officers effectiveness. This class will encompass both Live fire and Force on Force training. FoF equipment will be provided by OTG and consist of UTM weapons, safety gear, and ammunition. OTG’s Side arms are G17 platform weapons. If your department uses another platform you are welcome to bring your agency’s Simunitions or UTM pistols and ammunition for use in the class. ONLY UTM OR SIMUNITIONS BRAND FOF EQUIPMENT MAY BE USED IN THIS CLASS.

Prerequisites:

Students must be Sworn Law Enforcement Officers (Local, State or Federal agencies)

 

Student Packing List:

  • Tactical Body Armor
  • Ballistic Helmet
  • Protective mask
  • Gloves
  • Eye Protection
  • Hearing Protection
  • Carbine with Weapon Mounted Light and sling
  • Minimum of 3 Carbine Magazines
  • 500 rounds of long gun ammunition
  • Handgun and 3 magazines
  • 500 rounds of handgun ammunition
  • Holster and magazine pouches
  • Hand Held light
  • Pen and notebook
  • Hat or other head covering
  • Knee and elbow pads (Optional)
  • Athletic Cup or other suitable groin protection
  • Long Sleeve shirt for FoF evolution
  • Sunscreen or rain gear (as applicable)
  • Adequate personal water supply

 

It is recommended that you bring any other applicable gear you will have with you on duty (rapid deployment bags etc).
